Sofía Araújo

Sofía Araújo is one of the most important figures in the history of Portuguese padel. Born on 30 November 1994 in Lisbon, she has been established in the elite of the professional tour for years thanks to her experience, consistency and power.

Her career is an example of consistency: season after season she has stayed among the best players in the world, reaching the top 6 of the FIP ranking and adding professional titles to her record.

She plays on the backhand side and her height (1.72 m) makes her a very dangerous player in the air. Her smash and her ability to finish points are her trademarks.

She currently partners Marta Ortega and works with coaches Gaby Reca and Martín Dantonio. She is also a role model for a whole generation of players in Portugal.
