FAQs

What you ask us most before buying a padel racket.

Which padel racket should I choose as a beginner?

Look for a round racket with low balance and a soft core (soft EVA or foam), weighing between 345 and 360 grams. They are easier to control, forgive off-centre hits and protect your elbow while you improve your technique.

What is the difference between a diamond, round and teardrop racket?

The shape changes where the sweet spot is and the balance. The diamond concentrates weight at the top and gives more power; the round lowers it and gives more control; the teardrop sits in between and is the most versatile.

Soft or hard core?

A soft core gives more ball output and absorbs vibrations, ideal for beginner or intermediate level and cold weather. A hard core offers more control and precision on powerful shots, but demands more technique and strength.

What do 3K, 12K or 18K mean on carbon faces?

They indicate how many thousand filaments each carbon fibre weave has. The higher the K, the stiffer and more precise the face usually is; with fewer K it is usually a little more flexible with better ball output.

How much should my padel racket weigh?

Most adult rackets weigh between 345 and 375 grams. Lighter ones are easier to handle and protect your arm; heavier ones give more power and stability. If you have elbow problems, prioritise a light racket.

How often should you change your racket?

It depends on how much you play. With two or three matches a week, the core loses its properties in about a year. If you notice the racket has lost output or response, it is time to change it.

Adidas has established itself as one of the leading brands in professional padel, and its team of players confirms it: Alejandro Galán, world number 1 for three consecutive seasons, plays with the Metalbone, a racket built for attack and maximum power. Ari Sánchez, one of the best players on the women's tour, represents the brand with the Arrow_Hit, while Martita Ortega is the face of the Cross It Light, a model geared more towards control and manoeuvrability.
In our catalogue you will find the full range these players use, from the Metalbone —with its Weight & Balance system to customise the racket's balance to your playing style— to more accessible models for those getting started in the sport, without giving up the technology that defines adidas.
All adidas rackets feature cutting-edge materials such as Carbon Aluminized 16K or the Octagonal structure, which provide stiffness and stability in every shot, plus different EVA rubber densities to suit both attacking players and those who prioritise comfort and ball exit. You will find diamond, round and hexagonal shapes, each designed for a different playing style.
If you are unsure which adidas racket best suits your level or style, check our buying guide or contact our team: we will help you find the perfect racket, no strings attached.
